6th World Congress of Clinical Safety

The delegation of St. Petersburg Postgraduate School of Nursing, consisting of Dean Irina Bakhtina and Head of Academic-Services Office, Larisa Garderobova took part in the 6th World Congress of Clinical Safety (6 WCCS) held on September 6-8, 2017 in the heart of the Ancient Roman Empire -  Rome.

The Congress was organized by International Association of Risk Management in Medicine (IARMM) headed by D.Sc.(Med.), Professor Ryoji Sakai. The event gathered more than 100 representatives of medical community of Italy, Japan, Russia, Holland, Australia, USA, Canada, England, Egypt, South Korea, Slovenia, Austria, and Germany.

The Congress aimed to provide a platform for the exchange of scientific knowledge and practical experience in ensuring a systematic approach to safety in medical care.

The Congress covered a wide range of safety issues, such as clinical safety (patient safety, drug safety, safety of medical devices, infectious safety), disaster medicine, crisis management, environmental protection and epidemiological safety in healthcare facility.

Irina Bakhtina was a section moderator and presented a report on Modern health education in clinical safety assurance. The report aroused great interest among professionals.

The result of the delegation's work was establishment of new professional contacts and expansion of cooperation on implementation of the best practices of clinical safety in professional activity of subordinate organizations including through quality assurance in continuing professional education.
